Chemex' white paper filters are sourced from North American pine trees. The trees used to make this paper are responsibly managed and comply with the following sustainability programmes: Forest Stewardship Council, Sustainable Forestry Initiative and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. They are white as a result of being cleaned with oxygen, not chlorine bleaching.
