Rafael Aya has been deeply connected to coffee since birth, humorously claiming he was given "tinto" (black coffee) instead of milk. Originally from Tolima, Colombia, he moved to Huila at 17, where he met his wife, Elvira Cuellar. Together, they cultivated La Virginia, a five-hectare farm, and later, Rafael began managing La Violeta, a six-hectare farm owned by his friend Dimitri, a coffee entrepreneur.

Rafael's relentless pursuit of excellence has led to numerous innovations on his farms, including the installation of a cable car system that revolutionized transportation across the rugged terrain. His dedication and expertise have earned his coffee 15 international championships.
