Charles Mangua's family farm is located in the vicinity of Nyeri. In the 1980s, when he was very young and recently graduated, Charles had discussed with his father getting some plots on the family farm. For many years, he balanced his time between his work in the office during the week and his activities on the family farm on the weekends. Today, Charles has chosen to work only on the farm, by growing coffee, to further improve the quality of his lots. It is not common to taste a single farm coffee from Kenya where usually coffee is marketed through the system of auctions where traceability is poor. The medium roast brings out a honey-line sweetness combined with the flavour of berries and vibrant citrus acidity.
